On October 31, HWG will host its 2025 Annual Ethics Program, a webinar featuring three one-hour presentations that have been approved for CLE Ethics credit in Virginia and North Carolina.
Each presentation will explore a different realm of legal ethics:
Amy E. Richardson and Thomas B. Mason will present “Issues Arising From Partner Departures and Lateral Hires,” offering best practices for navigating various issues lawyers may face when conducting a job search and departure consistent with relevant ethics rules.
Courtney Miller and Rachel Grossman will present “The ‘Capitulation’ Conundrum: Did Law Firms Violate the Ethics Rules Through Their Executive-Order Settlement Agreements?” discussing whether and how the settlement agreements that some law firms entered with the Trump Administration to rescind the Executive Orders that targeted those firms violate the Rules of Professional Responsibility.
Jared P. Marx, and Grace Wynn will present “Law Firm AI Compliance: Leveraging AI’s Benefits and Mitigating AI’s Risk,” examining AI use in the legal field and exploring strategies for building a legal ethics compliance plan with AI in mind.
