Grace Wynn focuses her practice on legal ethics and professional responsibility, civil and commercial litigation, and complex business and contract disputes.
Legal Ethics and Malpractice
Grace represents lawyers and firms in disciplinary investigations, prosecutions, and malpractice matters. She frequently advises lawyers and law firms in understanding and complying with their legal ethics obligations. Grace is a Lecturing Fellow at Duke University Law School, where she teaches “Ethics and the Law of Lawyering,” and she is a frequent speaker and writer on evolving issues in legal ethics.
Civil Litigation, White-Collar Criminal Defense, and Investigations
Grace represents individuals and companies in all stages of civil and criminal litigation. Grace also conducts internal investigations in response to government enforcement actions.
Before entering private practice, Grace clerked for the Honorable Donald Middlebrooks of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
She received her J.D. from Duke University School of Law, where she served as Executive Editor of the Journal of Law & Contemporary Problems. Grace received her B.A., summa cum laude, from the College of William & Mary, where she was a Division I scholarship athlete in cross country and track, and received the Provost Award for outstanding academic achievement by a student athlete all three of her collegiate years. Prior to entering law school, Grace worked as a Teach for America educator in rural Mississippi.

Representative Experience
Litigation and Investigations
- Achieved complete victory on behalf of a submarine cable company in the early stages of a federal court litigation.
- Obtained a favorable settlement in federal court of a TCPA class-action, settling a multi-million dollar claim for a small fraction of the claimed damages.
- Prevailed in a civil rights case in North Carolina federal court.
- Secured a significant financial settlement in a civil rights action against a municipality.
Legal Ethics and Malpractice
- Secured dismissal of grievances before State Bars and the United State Patent and Trademark Office of Enrollment and Discipline.
- Obtained favorable Consent Orders before State Bars and the North Carolina Real Estate Commission.
- Negotiated a favorable settlement of a multi-million dollar breach of fiduciary duty claim brought against a law firm partner.
- Represented client in a multi-million dollar breach of fiduciary duty claim against law firm.
