Harris, Wiltshire & Grannis LLP (“HWG”) is pleased to announce that FCC Commissioner Geoffrey Starks has appointed HWG associate Austin Bonner as Legal Advisor covering wireline and public safety issues.
Ms. Bonner, a communications and appellate lawyer, had an active practice at HWG covering a wide range of matters involving regulatory challenges, constitutional law, and statutory interpretation, with a focus on complex technologies and telecommunications.
“We are thrilled for this opportunity for Austin,” said Scott Blake Harris, Chairman of HWG, “She carries on a long tradition of HWG attorneys that have served the Commission. She is a tremendous lawyer and will be a great asset to the FCC.”
From its start in 1998, HWG has been focused on the telecommunications industry – and working on regulatory issues and the complex litigation and transactions that involve telecom companies have remained central to the firm’s core. Many HWG attorneys have served in prominent roles at the FCC, including attorneys that have served as FCC General Counsel, Chief of the International Bureau, Chief of the Wireline Competition Bureau, and as senior advisors to multiple FCC Commissioners.
