HWG is pleased to announce the election of Patrick O’Donnell as Chair and Jared Marx as Co-Chair of the firm’s Litigation & Investigations practice. Pat succeeds Thomas Connolly as practice chair although Tom will continue to represent clients in litigation and investigation matters.

Pat’s practice focuses on civil litigation, with a particular focus on international matters, where he has secured major victories for clients in complex cases. He is an active member of an international consortium of lawyers and has defended foreign individuals against attempts by the United States to enforce its domestic criminal law extraterritorially. Pat’s practice also focuses on government investigations and enforcement matters and legal ethics.
Jared is an experienced litigator focused on helping companies and individuals resolve complex cases, particularly in the areas of telecommunications and legal ethics. Jared has helped communications companies address critical issues in court and before regulators, including issues related to the Universal Service Fund, intercarrier tariff and compensation disputes, and the False Claims Act. Jared also represents individuals and law firms in high-stakes professional responsibility proceedings and advises companies and individuals responding to government investigations involving the Department of Justice and the Federal Communications Commission.
