HWG LLP’s Thomas B. Mason co-presented with an attorney from the D.C. Office of Disciplinary Counsel a DC Bar CLE program, “Fees: All About Getting Paid Ethically,” on February 25, 2026.
During the session, Tom offered guidance on the ethical rules governing attorney-client relationships and attorney fees. He covered best practices for setting fees, managing fee agreements, and addressing common fee-related issues that arise throughout a client engagement.
Tom Mason is the founder of HWG’s Legal Ethics and Malpractice group and has experience in malpractice and disqualification litigation, disciplinary investigations and prosecutions, partner admissions and departures, and law firm dissolutions. He is a past Chair of the D.C. Bar Legal Ethics and Rules Revisions Committees.
