Working with the Federal Communications Bar Association (FCBA) and jointly with Julie Veach’s family, HWG LLP announces the launch of the Julie Veach Internship Fund. This fund will provide financial support for law students pursuing unpaid summer internships, especially at the Federal Communications Commission. The stipend, administered by the FCBA Foundation, will be part of the FCBA Foundation’s annual scholarship program.
Widely respected as a superb lawyer and long-time colleague, friend, mentor, and FCBA leader, Julie served in senior positions at the Federal Communications Commission, including as Chief of the Wireline Competition Bureau and Deputy General Counsel, and then as a partner at HWG. Julie also most recently served on the FCBA Executive Committee and was a past co-chair of the FCBA’s Wireline and Judicial Practice Committees. Throughout her career, Julie was committed to helping many around her develop as lawyers and professionals.
In Julie’s memory and in recognition of her commitment to training others, HWG has sponsored the Julie Veach Internship Fund to continue her legacy of mentorship. For those who similarly wish to honor Julie’s memory in this way, contributions to the fund can be made through the FCBA Foundation donation portal.
Students at accredited law schools who are seeking unpaid summer internships in the government in areas relating to telecommunications, media, and technology law are encouraged to apply through the FCBA Foundation website.
Founded in 1936, the FCBA has been gathering telecommunications lawyers to support those just coming into the field, cultivate the next great leaders in the industry, and form strong personal and professional connections. Learn more here.
