On May 28, Paul Margie spoke on the panel, “A Survey of Innovative GPS Applications,” at the Emerging Challenges and Opportunities for Civil and Commercial Uses of GPS conference hosted by the Space Policy Institute. Paul discussed the importance of GPS to emergency response activities around the world.
Paul serves both as chair of HWG’s telecommunication practice and as the U.S. Representative of Telecoms Sans Frontieres (“TSF”), the international non-profit that uses technology to advance humanitarian goals. HWG serves as TSF’s pro bono legal counsel. Paul represents TSF in the U.S. and has deployed with the non-profit as an emergency responder part of TSF’s disaster-response team.
The Space Policy Institute is part of the George Washington University Elliott School of International Affairs. It conducts research, offers graduate courses, and leads informed discussion about domestic and international space policy.
