Amy E. Richardson and Thomas B. Mason recently presented the program “Litigation Ethics” before the American College of Trial Lawyers at the 2025 Trial Techniques Program. Amy and Tom provided an overview of crucial subjects for attorneys to be mindful of in litigation practice, including contrasting choice of law and judicial decisions to ethical rules, meritorious claims, documents and discovery obligations, and other relevant rules.  

Amy Richardson is Chair of the firm’s Legal Ethics and Malpractice group. Her practice focuses on legal ethics and professional responsibility matters, white collar defense, and complex commercial litigation. Amy teaches legal ethics and professional responsibility at Duke University School of Law. 

Tom Mason is the founder of HWG’s Legal Ethics and Malpractice group and has experience in malpractice and disqualification litigation, disciplinary investigations and prosecutions, partner admissions and departures, and law firm dissolutions. He is a past Chair of the D.C. Bar Legal Ethics and Rules Revisions Committees.
