On March 4, Hilary P. Gerzhoy will present “From Public Service to Private Practice: A Practical Guide to Ensuring an Ethical Transition” to the D.C. Bar, exploring ways to navigate the crucial ethical rules for government attorneys transitioning to private law.
Hilary will outline the relevant ethical and statutory directives governing these moves, applying them to realistic scenarios and sharing tips for managing common pitfalls. This presentation will be beneficial for government attorneys and law firms alike, offering guidance to help support smooth transitions.
Hilary is the Vice Chair of HWG’s legal ethics and malpractice group, Vice Chair of the D.C. Bar’s Rules of Professional Conduct Review Committee, a member of the ABA’s Standing Committee on Legal Ethics, and an adjunct law professor at Georgetown where she teaches legal ethics. Hilary represents lawyers in front of numerous disciplinary bodies at the state and federal level, as well as companies and individuals in a vast range of white-collar criminal investigations.
