On December 3, Amy E. Richardson and Deepika H. Ravi presented the D.C. Bar CLE “Using Tech Ethically: A Lawyer’s Ethical Duties to Understand Metadata, Digital Evidence in the Cloud, Secure Client Data, and More,” exploring attorneys’ ethical duty to understand and use technology in their practice. The program discussed how the ethics rules apply to lawyers’ use of technology, including generative AI, social media, e-discovery, cloud storage, metadata, and more.
Amy is Chair of the firm’s Legal Ethics and Malpractice group. Her practice focuses on legal ethics and professional responsibility matters, white collar defense, and complex commercial litigation. Amy teaches legal ethics and professional responsibility at Duke University School of Law.
Deepika is the Vice Chair of the firm’s Legal Ethics and Malpractice group. In her practice, Deepika counsels clients on ethical restrictions on the practice of law and represents attorneys in disciplinary proceedings. Deepika also serves as an adjunct professor of law, teaching professional responsibility at the Georgetown University Law Center.
