Hilary P. Gerzhoy was recently featured in the Law360 article entitled “Vidal’s Sanctions Make It Clear: Don’t Mess With the PTAB,” discussing U.S. Patent and Trademark Office Director Kathi Vidal’s sanctions decisions affecting the consequences of misconduct in the Patent Trial and Appeals Board (PTAB). 

Vidal’s sanctions decisions were in response to two cases of accused extortion and one of intentionally hiding evidence to mislead the PTAB. Hilary expressed her thoughts on Vidal’s approach and commented on the effects on the PTAB’s powers.
