Harris, Wiltshire & Grannis LLP (HWG) has promoted three lawyers to its partnership: John Grimm, Robert Friedman, and Lauren Snyder.

John Grimm is an experienced litigator who has served as lead counsel in civil cases in both federal and state trial courts, and has tried numerous criminal cases in Maryland state courts.  John, a former litigator the Maryland Attorney Generals’ civil division, has argued in the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit and Fourth Circuit and the Maryland Court of Special Appeals, and authored briefs in more than a dozen appeals.  John graduated cum laude from Georgetown University Law Center and received his masters, and undergraduate degree cum laude, from the University of Maryland, where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa.

Robert Friedman advises clients on issues involving international trade, investment, and government regulation of cross-border transactions.  He helps domestic and global companies navigate export controls, economic sanctions, supply chain matters, and reviews by the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States.  Robert, a former legal adviser at the U.S. Department of State, has worked on negotiations in over 20 countries across five continents.  Robert graduated cum laude from the Georgetown University Law Center, earned a master’s degree with honors from Johns Hopkins University, and received his undergraduate degree from Emory University.

Lauren Snyder, who maintains active practices in HWG’s North Carolina and DC offices, is an experienced litigator who represents individuals and companies in complex civil litigation in federal and state courts across the country.  Lauren also has broad experience in advising clients on legal ethics and malpractice issues, and representing clients facing government enforcement actions.  Lauren graduated with high honors from the George Washington University Law School and earned her undergraduate degree, summa cum laude, from Vanderbilt University, where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa.
