On Monday night, HWG filed a federal civil rights law suit against the City of St. Louis, the St. Louis Police Department, the St. Louis Police Union and others on behalf of St. Louis Circuit Attorney Kim Gardner, the first African American elected as the city’s chief prosecutor. The case has received extensive national media coverage, including in The New York Times and The Washington Post.

HWG’s team is led by partner Roy Austin, the former Deputy Assistant Attorney General of the Civil Rights Division of the United States Department of Justice.  HWG is joined in this effort by the law firms Emery Celli Brinckerhoff & Abady, and Kennedy & Hunt.
