On December 30, HWG hosted its annual CLE ethics program which focused on two current issues with significant impact on the legal community: virtual practice during the coronavirus pandemic, and attorney-client privilege. The program, available to HWG clients and friends of the firm, featured speakers from the firm’s well-known legal ethics and litigation teams.

HWG attorneys Amy Richardson and Deepika Ravi discussed the law governing attorney-client privilege, trends in privilege decisions relating to in-house counsel roles, and the application of rules to law firm general counsel. They also exchanged ideas on best practices.

HWG attorneys Lauren Snyder and Hilary Gerzhoy focused their presentation on the difference between virtual practice and telecommuting, as well as the Unauthorized Practice of Law (“UPL”) and ABA Model Rule 5.5.
