HWG partner Mike Nilsson was quoted in the Law360 article “Satellite TV Reauthorizaton is Inevitable” on December 4.  The article focused on whether Congress will reauthorize a law governing satellite-TV programming before it expires at the end of the month, buying lawmakers and other industry players time to come up with more comprehensive reforms to address pricing and other aspects of the content carriage system.

Mr. Nilsson, who has been recognized by Chambers USA for his work in the telecom, broadcast and satellite fields, indicated that “Congress can and should address still address broader reforms going forward,” and “that high subscriber fees passed on from costly carriage negotiations are a signal that something in the marketplace is broken and requires congressional intervention to fix it.”
