The D.C. Bar held its annual Appellate Advocacy CLE event on October 29, 2019.  The day-long course featured presentations from D.C. Circuit judges and appellate practitioners on all matters related to appellate advocacy.  Two HWG lawyers, Christopher J. Wright and Shiva Goel, participated in the event as faculty.  As a panelist on From the Lectern: Appellate Argument, Mr. Wright discussed oral argument preparation in detail, along with how to make the best use of your time at the podium.  Earlier in the day, Mr. Goel presented on ethical issues that may arise during the course of an appellate representation, covering topics such as positional conflicts and prosecuting an appeal with both zeal and candor to the court.
