Harris, Wiltshire & Grannis LLP announced today that Neile L. Miller has joined the firm as a Senior Policy Advisor.  Ms. Miller, who has distinguished herself as a senior government executive, will focus on: energy policy; nuclear safety and security; environmental remediation; federal funding; and government contracting.

Ms. Miller has served at the Department of Energy (DOE) as Acting Undersecretary for Nuclear Security, and as Principal Deputy Administrator of the National Nuclear Security Administration. She has also served as DOE’s Budget Director, and as an Associate Director in DOE’s Office of Nuclear Energy. In addition, she served as a Program Examiner at the Office of Management and Budget, focusing on both DOE and the Department of Defense.  Her knowledge of the technical, financial, and practical obstacles facing government contractors and others in the federal services and energy sectors will perfectly complement Harris, Wiltshire & Grannis’s legal practice.

“Nobody understands how to get difficult projects done like Neile.  Any project that involves federal operations in the energy sector takes on a financial, technical, and practical complexity that few people can manage.  Neile is one of those few.” said Scott Blake Harris, chairman of Harris, Wiltshire & Grannis and former General Counsel of the U.S. Department of Energy.

“I have always been impressed by the work of the attorneys at Harris, Wiltshire & Grannis,” said Ms. Miller, “and I look forward to using my knowledge and experience to address our clients’ needs more completely.”

Ms. Miller received an A.B in Political Science at Vassar, and an M.S. in International Affairs and Economics from the Georgetown University School of Foreign Service.
