Thomas Mason presented “Ethical Issues in Law Firm Dissolutions” at the D.C. Bar. The presentation covered important ethical topics on the dissolution of law firms as they relate to the DC Rules of Professional Conduct. In the presentation, Mr. Mason discussed what law firm dissolutions are, typical dissolution scenarios, how to plan for and address dissolution issues in advance, and the economic challenges tied to dissolutions.  Some of the typical issues associated with law firm dissolutions are when and how to notify clients of the dissolution, and how to adjust personal and professional profiles online before and after the dissolution.
