Harris, Wiltshire & Grannis LLP is pleased to announce the firm has been awarded the 2016 Good Hope Award by Bread for the City. Thomas B. Mason, the chair of HWG’s Legal Ethics and Malpractice Group, accepted the award on the firm’s behalf.
Bread for the City provides DC’s vulnerable residents with “comprehensive services, including food, clothing, medical care, and legal and social services, in an atmosphere of dignity and respect.” The organization’s annual award ceremony recognizes the work of those who help to fulfill its mission. HWG associates Adrienne E. Fowler, Lauren E. Snyder, and William B. Sullivan collaborated to advise Bread for the City on ethics-related matters and in its domestic violence proceedings. Harris, Wiltshire & Grannis was the only law firm to receive this honor.
With an average of 85.8 pro bono hours per attorney per year, Harris, Wiltshire & Grannis has taken on countless public service projects, including work with The Innocence Project, Whitman-Walker Health, and Advocates for Youth. Several HWG attorneys, including Ms. Snyder, were recognized by the District of Columbia Court System for completing over 100 hours of pro bono work in 2015.
